About

The Bass Lake Lodge at Highland Recreation Area provides modern facilities in a wooded, secluded location that has that Up North feel without the long drive.

This facility overlooks Bass Lake, which connects to Lower Pettibone Lake and Pickerel Lake by a stream. A rowboat is available to renters from April 1 to November 30 for leisurely water tours around the lakes.

Equipped with a modern bathroom, including a shower, in the basement. Heated in the winter by a LP furnace and cooled by an air conditioner in the summer. The Lodge sleeps six. Two bedrooms on the main floor contain twin size bunk beds and the upstairs loft has two double beds. Visitors must bring their own sleeping bags and/or other bedding.

The kitchen contains a refrigerator, an electric stove, toaster, microwave and coffee pot. Tableware and various cookware is included. A table and chairs provides a cozy dining area.

Highland Recreation Area offers 5,900 acres of forest, marshes and lakes in the rolling hills of Southern Michigan. With trails to accommodate equestrian riders, mountain bikers, hikers and skiers, there's an activity for every season in this park. Three different day-use areas provide ample space for picnics, swimming, horseshoes or volleyball.
