First Landing State Park is a natural oasis in the city of Virginia Beach, within the park’s boundaries are several unique ecosystems to explore, including bald cypress swamps, saltwater marshes, maritime forest, and costal dunes. The park offers many recreational and educational activities; visitors can enjoy hiking on over 18 miles of trails, swimming and fishing along the 1.5 miles of Chesapeake Bay beach, picnicking in the picnic area, launching a boat from the boat ramp at the 64th Street Narrows, delve deeper into the park's story in two museums, and interact with live animals in our Discovery Room and Bay Lab.
