Please be mindful of Great Lakes beach safety. Pay attention to the beach flag warning system in designated swim areas; red flags indicate the water is unsafe and no one should swim in or enter the water. DO NOT swim near or jump off of the pier and pay attention to changing conditions. This modern campground is unlike any other in the state park system. The sites are a little closer in proximity and make you feel like you are camping right on the beach. The sites are paved. The designated swim beach and the Grand River are just steps away. Firepits are not provided, but campers can bring their own portable firepits. They must be at least 6 inches above the sand and fully enclosed with a cover. There are no ground fires allowed, and firepits are not allowed on the asphalt or within 15 feet of any camping unit. The old-style washtub fire pits are no longer allowed. Recycling is available.
