Last updated: April 7, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CampScout (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

CampScout is a campsite review platform that allows users to discover, review, and share information about individual campsites at campgrounds across the United States. The Service is provided “as is” and is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Accounts

To submit reviews or access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any reviews, ratings, photos, or other content you submit (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant CampScout a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and in connection with promoting the Service.

You represent that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with our Community Guidelines. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory reviews
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
  • Attempt to scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation

6. Intellectual Property

All content on CampScout that is not User Content — including the site design, logo, interface, and underlying code — is owned by CampScout and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our express written permission.

Campground and facility data may be sourced from the National Park Service, Recreation Information Database (RIDB), and other public sources. Such data remains the property of the respective agencies.

7. Disclaimers

The information on CampScout — including campground details, site descriptions, and user reviews — is provided for informational purposes only. We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of this information. Campground conditions, availability, and pricing can change; always verify directly with the campground or managing agency before your trip.

See our full Disclaimer for more detail.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampScout and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, without prior notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@campscout.org.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction, as mutually agreed.
