<p>Known to locals as Hadley Hills, Ortonville Recreation Area is a wonderful wooded paradise in southeast Michigan. The equestrian campground includes 25 sites, many accommodating "big rigs" comfortably. Most sites offer shade during part of the day. Each site is provided with picket poles, a fire ring and picnic table. Other amenities include a well with a hand pump, vault toilets, a pavilion and a permanent mounting block at the trailhead entrance.</p>

<p>Just a mile down the road is Big Fish Lake, ideal for campers to cool off after their ride.</p.>

<p>The 8.5-mile <a href="https://www2.dnr.state.mi.us/parksandtrails/Details.aspx?id=235&type=SPTR">Ortonville Equestrian/Snowmobile Trail</a> is a looped system of well-marked wooded trails. A connecting trail near the pavilion leads from the campground to the staging area just a few hundred feet east of the campground.</p>
